ECCO's history
ECCO was founded in 1963 by Birte and Karl Toosbuy. Trained as a shoemaker, Karl Toosbuy had a dream to own a shoe factory and run his own business. Therefore, the family decided to give up the security of regular jobs, sell their home, and move to Bredebro in southwest Denmark – just north of the German border.
ECCO’s workforce is diverse, covering several generations and a multitude of nationalities. Being different together, while maintaining a rigorous focus on craftsmanship and quality, is key to driving innovation.

Factories and Tanneries
Unique to the brand’s industry, ECCO also owns and operates their own tanneries. ECCO’s four tanneries deliver leather not only to ECCO shoes and accessories, but to some of the world’s iconic luxury brands.

COZMO
Made with an innovative method that uses our signature FLUIDFORM™ construction, the ECCO COZMO fuses premium leather or suede uppers to the flexible sole to create a one-piece slide. Featuring a soft and responsive PU midsole and adjustable straps across the front. These will get you through the warm-weather months in true Scandinavian style whilst offering superior comfort.
BIOM
The ECCO BIOM is an athletic hiking shoe with the stability for longer, more challenging trails. With its reinforced sole construction, rock plate and ECCO PERFORMANCE RUBBER+ outsole, this fast-hiking product lets you move quickly on more demanding terrain. Built for speed, this waterproof shoe has BIOM® NATURAL MOTION® Technology and a PHORENE™ midsole. For sporty style on the go, the upper is fashioned from a mix of ECCO nubuck leather and a textile with an original print inspired by nature, while the reflective details add visibility.
